Professional tennis on the men's ATP and women's WTA tours. Matches are won by sets, and the tours run most of the year.
Tennis has no preseason or postseason in the team-sport sense. The ATP and WTA tours run most of the year, and the season ends with tour finals in the autumn.
The four Grand Slams are the Australian Open, usually in January, Roland Garros, usually from late May into early June, Wimbledon, usually from late June into early July, and the US Open, usually from late August into early September. The exact dates change each year.
A point is the basic scoring event. A player wins a game with four points and a two-point lead, so 4-3 is not enough and the game goes on. Six games win a set, and a tiebreak usually settles a set tied at six games each.
Men's matches at the Grand Slams are best of five sets. Most other matches, including most women's matches, are best of three. For example, a player who wins 6-4, loses 3-6 and wins 6-2 takes the match two sets to one.
Tennis play-by-play is coming soon. Today Antic shows tennis prices, the match winner and the total games, without a point-by-point feed.
Antic does not show an Antic Rating or a game rating for tennis, because the rating has no scale for the sport. Antic Ratings cover the team sports and soccer.
Antic does not show player props for tennis. The lines Antic shows are the moneyline, which is the match winner, and the total, which is the combined number of games in the match and whether it finishes over or under a set number.
Antic never places bets. If betting stops being fun, set limits or call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Polls ask who wins the match, and you can vote before it starts. The app does not poll sets or games while a match is live. Votes show the split.
Tennis has no lineups or positions. A tournament draw is the bracket, and seeds are the top-ranked players, placed so that they meet later in the draw.
Antic does not show standings for tennis. The tours publish rankings from points earned over the past year, and a player's rank moves as results come in.
